Over 500 competitors paddle "The Highway of the Adirondack's" over 3 days in the 40th anniversary edition of this canoe classic. The competition starts on Friday, September 8th and finishes on September 10th. Today's competitors might have some modern advantages in this race like lighter boats and a pit crew, but they are camping, carrying and paddling the same lakes, rivers and carries taken by early European settlers.
The route starts at Old Forge via the Moose River and finishes at Lake Flower in Saranac lake.
